great talent -but too loud
Last summer at the pacific amphitheater, we attended two concerts, Anita Baker and Pat Benatar, both shows were excessively loud to the point where the lyrics were incomprehensible, artist sitting with us would have been horrified by the poor sound quality. The sound volume for Ben Bankas show was tolerable for me with earplugs from guitar center, however, my wife had to move to the rear of the auditorium to escape the loudness. At times, Joes riffs on the guitar were drowned out by the overwhelming band volume and P.A. system. We also enjoyed a concert by Rob Thomas at Universal amphitheater where the sound volume and clarity were exceptional. Why is it that spending $175.00 for a show results in distorted music volume? Is this a growing trend? Shouldn't sound checkers ensure clear, undistorted, and enjoyable music for all concert-goers who share our concerns?
